Talha Wahab, a 29-year-old man, was reported missing on 15 September 2015 after failing to return home from work. His vehicle was found at Moomba Park in Fawkner. Despite extensive police search efforts over 17 days involving multiple units, technology, and volunteers, his body was discovered in Merri Creek on 2 October 2015. Police response was systematic and thorough. Post-mortem examination showed advanced decomposition with no definitive cause of death, though drowning is the strongest possibility. Cannabis was detected in post-mortem blood analysis. The coroner found death by misadventure most likely.
