Finding into death of Noel John Biggs

A 66-year-old man with multiple chronic conditions including Parkinson's disease, spastic gait syndrome, cognitive impairment, atrial fibrillation, and swallowing difficulties died at his supported disability accommodation home on 20 June 2024. He experienced acute respiratory difficulty and was found not breathing by his carer, who initiated CPR. Paramedics attended and found him deceased with a documented not-for-resuscitation order in place. Post-mortem examination found no obvious pneumonic change despite recent respiratory symptoms treated with antibiotics by his GP the previous day. The coroner found no evidence of want of clinical management or care by disability service providers or clinical staff. The death was attributed to undetermined natural causes.
