A 23-year-old male died from traumatic closed head injury (diffuse axonal injury) following a single-vehicle motor crash. He was speeding (142 km/h in a 110 km/h zone), not wearing a seatbelt, and had a blood alcohol level of 0.157 g/100mL at the time of the crash. He was ejected from the vehicle, sustained massive injuries, and died in ICU 12 days later despite organ donation and supportive care. This case represents a completely avoidable death caused by the combination of excessive speed, alcohol impairment, and failure to use seatbelt restraints. No medical management failures were identified.
