Finding into death of Dennis Alfred Goudge

Dennis Alfred Goudge, a 68-year-old man with metastatic cholangiocarcinoma, prostate cancer, depression and angina, died in the hospital ward of Port Phillip Prison from complications of his metastatic cholangiocarcinoma. He had been admitted to the prison hospital ward for four weeks prior to his death due to cardiac issues and cancer complications. On the morning of 30 July 2021, he was observed sleeping at 3:00 am, but was found non-responsive and groaning at 5:00 am. CPR was commenced and paramedics attended, but he was declared deceased at 5:45 am. Post-mortem examination confirmed natural death from metastatic cholangiocarcinoma with findings of ascites and lung masses. The finding contains no clinical recommendations or identified preventable factors.
