Finding into death of Armani El-Sayegh

Armani El-Sayegh was a seven-month-old infant who died from right ventricular failure secondary to complex congenital heart disease (pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect and major aortopulmonary collateral arteries). She was born at 33+5 weeks with low APGAR scores and required immediate intensive support. Despite appropriate multidisciplinary care including serial cardiac imaging, medical management, and 15 cardiac surgical procedures, she developed progressive complications including sepsis, seizures, and organ dysfunction. The Coroners Prevention Unit found her medical care was appropriately managed throughout from antenatal to end-of-life stages, with no preventable factors identified. She underwent palliative care de-escalation and died peacefully with family.
