LP, a 31-year-old man with depression, severe anxiety, and substance use disorder, died from multidrug overdose including heroin. He had long-standing benzodiazepine (Xanax) abuse since his late teens, complicated by methamphetamine use. On 7 June 2011, he purchased heroin with a known drug user at their flat, where both consumed Xanax, Ice, and heroin. LP died overnight; the other person discovered his body on 9 June but moved it without calling emergency services due to drug impairment and fear of police involvement. The case highlights risks of polysubstance abuse involving benzodiazepines, opioids, and stimulants, and the importance of substance use disorder treatment and mental health support.
