Coroner's Finding: Lockley, Shane Reginald

Shane Reginald Lockley, aged 54, died from decompensated liver failure due to advanced cirrhosis and chronic alcohol dependence. He had a long history of alcohol abuse, intellectual impairment, and was under guardianship, living in supported residential aged care. He was admitted to Royal Hobart Hospital on 25 June 2020 and transitioned to palliative care as his condition deteriorated. A fall occurred during admission but did not contribute to his death. The coroner found his medical care was of appropriate standard with no issues identified. No inquest was held as there were no suspicious circumstances and the circumstances were clear.
