Coroner's Finding: Meerman, Michael

Michael Richard Meerman, a 72-year-old man with schizophrenia and diabetes, died of ischaemic heart disease due to right coronary artery thrombosis. He was subject to a Mental Health Act Treatment Order and received community mental health support including weekly visits from his case manager. He was last seen on 16 February 2019 and found deceased on 26 February 2019. The coroner found that the care and treatment provided to Mr Meerman was of a good standard and entirely appropriate. An experienced medical practitioner reviewed his care and concurred. There were no preventable factors identified, and no recommendations were made.
